Narrative Structures

Linear Structure 
A Linear Structure means it has a set out beginning, middle and end that you can see clearly.

Open Structure
An Open Structure means that the audience is left wondering what will happen next and are left to themselves to make sense of it.

Closed Structure
A Closed Structure has a definite ending and has a clear conclusion for the audience.

Circular Structure
A Circular Structure means that the ending and beginning are the same point so it begins at the end events.

Non Linear Structure
A Non Linear Structure controls what the audience receives like a maze you can do what you want with it eg. pause, slow down, rewind.

Tableau
Tableau is a narrative constructed in one single image trying to show the meaning/message through that one image for the audience.

Tableau Vivant
Tableau Vivant in french means living picture. This is usually done in dramatic like and using people in costumes referencing to paintings, and using photography to capture significant events in history that couldn't have been captured with photography at there time.
