For this assignment we had to create a proposal that could be a start off idea for this assignment, here is the first proposal I did for the circular narrative assignment.
Once I received my image for this assignment my first thoughts were that I was happy with the image I received. But I was unsure on how I would create a circular narrative from this image. It took me a long time to try and think of something that would work with this image (No.2, Exit sign), eventually I came up with an idea that I think would work well with the image I was given.
The image I received and the first image I will be using is of an exit sign that is brightly lit on a wall. For my narrative I didn’t want to create an obvious story line but something you had to think of.
For my narrative I want to show the ‘circle of life’ through a set of images. The first image will be the exit sign but I will re photograph the exit sign so it will be the same sign but on a much lighter wall, so that it will suit my narrative. My second image. would be of a maternity ward sign to show that is where the child will be being born. The third image would be of a toddler to show the child growing, the forth of a young child then growing up to the fifth image of a teenager/adult and then the sixth image being of an old person and then finishing with the exit sign again.
Throughout the images I will keep them all in colour so that they flow as a set together.
The initial location would start at the hospital with the exit sign then go on through the person’s life to end at the hospital again showing the exit sign and showing a full circle of the person’s life.
I feel that the audience for this series of images could be anyone and that it could be turned into an advert for something showing something being used throughout the person’s life.

I showed this proposal to Claire (tutor) and got her feedback from it. In the feedback we came up with the issue that it would be very hard to do this brief because of the models needed and because of the location, meaning that it would be very hard to photograph in a hospital. Also that I had to keep the image of the exit sign the same and it couldn't be re-photographed on a lighter wall. This being the situation I am going to come up with a new proposal and idea, we had the idea of maybe it could be an industrial building or a car park wall that the exit sign was on.
